In an article by IRS Mark Matthews on modernization, Mr. Matthews highlights the “sophisticated”, “comprehensive” IRS “media strategy” and the “marketing” of justice department convictions. Other references include “steering reporters” and targeting audiences and “partners” with an “economic interest in spreading information”. [Reference: US Attorney’s Bulletin, July 18, 2001, page 16 to 18].
Now ask yourself: Would an government bent on propaganda use “sophisticated, comprehensive media strategies” and would it “market” convictions of those who oppose its unlawfulness? Do purveyors of propaganda “steer” the media and seek those with an “economic interest” as “partners” to “spread information”?
Here are some other quotes from Joseph Goebbels, who incredibly shared a “PIO-like” tile of “Minister of Propaganda and Public Information”:
"The effective propagandist must be a master of the art of speech, of writing, of journalism, of the poster, and of the leaflet. He must have the gift to use the major methods of influencing public opinion such as the press, film, and radio to serve his ideas and goals, above all in an age of advancing technology."
"Propaganda is a means to an end. Its purpose is to lead the people to an understanding that will allow them to willingly and without internal resistance devote themselves to the tasks and goals of a superior leadership."
"The people should share the concerns and successes of their government. Its concerns and successes must therefore be constantly presented and hammered into them so that the people will consider the concerns and successes of their government to be their concerns and successes."
